Bakubang Game Lodge

A mere two-hour drive from the hustle and bustle of Johannesburg and ten minutes from Sun City, lies a place of breathtaking beauty and serenity. A place called Bakubung Bush Lodge. Concealed in the rich expanses of the malaria-free Pilanesberg National Park, Bakubung, or "People of the Hippo", offers guests everything they need to get in touch with the bush.

Accommodation:

Bakubung offers 76 beautifully appointed air-conditioned, thatched roof studio rooms and 66 time-share chalets that curve in a horse-shoe around the Hippo pool. All rooms are decorated in an African theme with all the modern conveniences to ensure your stay with us is comfortable and memorable.

Standard Studio Rooms
Our studio rooms either have two double beds or one king size bed, en suite bathroom, icluding a shower, air conditioner, direct dial telephone, tea/coffe machine, colour TV(with DStv bouquet), a hairdryer, plug for electric shaver and internet connetivity.

All hotel rooms have doors leading onto either a balcony or a patio, and have panoramic views of the Park and the Hippo Pool.

Chalets
There are 66 time share owned chalets (affiliated to RCI and awarded Golden Crown status since inception), beautifully situated in a horse shoe around the Hippo Pool, with two bedrooms (one twin, one double), two bathrooms, a separate lounge/dining area, full kitchen facilities, a direct-dialling telephone, a color TV with DSTV bouquet, a hairdryer and a plug for electric shavers. There is also a sleeper couch in the lounge. These are perfect for larger families who want to experience the wild beauty of African in comfort and style.

The Bakubung restaurant caters for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We have different themes on different days ranging from African, Indian and Asian. On Wednesday and Saturday nights you can book for the bush braai at our boma in the park, or enjoy our Chef's carvery in the main restaurant. The Bakubung restaurant has various options to choose from.

For an unforgettable dining experience try a bush braai around a huge fire in the boma. If bush dining is not your thing, then dine in comfort in the main restaurant and choose from the Chef's carvery to your heart's content. On different evenings we present different themes, for example on Tuesday evenings the buffet has an Indian theme, on Thursday evenings we make a change with a "Taste of Asia" and on Friday evenings we go African.
